Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Lea Keslar: Turning Passion Into Progress
Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Lea Keslar! Based in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Lea has always had a love for dogs and the joy that comes from seeing a pet’s transformation. For Lea, one of the most rewarding parts of grooming is seeing a customer’s face light up when they see their freshly groomed dog.
Through Paragon’s Groom Tech Certification, Lea has expanded her knowledge, learned new grooming techniques, and built a strong foundation for her future in the industry. Her dedication to staying on track and using feedback to improve has helped her make meaningful progress throughout her coursework.
Her mentor, Suesan Watson, shares:
“Lea has worked very hard to stay on track and complete on time. So far, she has reached the goal she has set for herself. Lea utilized every critique to help elevate her work; you could see the growth as she moved through the lessons. I am excited to see where this journey will lead her as she moves close to being the groomer she wants to be. Congratulations!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve always loved dogs. I love the aspect of making a dog look completely different, especially when they need it. I love when the customer’s eyes light up when they see their dog.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
What I have enjoyed the most was all the learning and learning different techniques.
Where can we see your work?
You can see my work at Pet Supplies Plus in Mount Pleasant, PA.
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to keep growing and keep learning. I want to learn how to groom cats and exotics.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
The advice I would give to an aspiring groomer is never belittle yourself. Just keep trying and take your time. Ask family to do their dogs’ nails or haircuts. It’s family, so they can’t get too mad at you.
