Sisters in Dog Grooming
Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Myah Scott of St. Louis, Missouri. Myah’s big sister inspired her dreams of dog grooming and clearly talent runs in the family!
Mentor Jen McCarthy: “Myah has been such a pleasure to work with in all of our Paragon Levels. Myah started out in our Nails/Ears Tech program and quickly worked her way up through Level 2 and has done an amazing job on all her written and photo submission tests. Myah works very hard to understand everything, asks questions when needed, always takes feedback from me and does what needs to be done, and has wonderful prep work and scissoring skills. Myah clearly has a natural talent for grooming and has a love for animals that translates into a deep concern for all the dogs in her care.”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I chose grooming as a career because my older sister is a groomer! I grew up watching her groom and experiencing the love of animals and watching them transform right before my eyes! I just knew it’s what I wanted to do!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed getting to be with the animals! But I also loved seeing my growth and becoming confident in myself!
Are you currently employed, or still looking?
I am currently employed! I work at Treats Unleashed in Creve Coeur, Missouri!
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to always grow as a groomer and to perfect what I know now!
