Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Kicking Off a Successful Grooming Career
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Ashley Christensen of Petsense in St. Mary’s, Georgia! Ashley discovered grooming while working as a bather and she’s never looked back. We’re so happy she’s found a career path she loves and have been continually impressed with her coursework. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes her!
Her mentor Suesan Watson tells us, “Ashley has worked very hard throughout level 1, she has had a lot to handle on her own in the salon, all while being a part-time student. She even completed weeks early. I was so proud of how she still managed to do all she needed to do and keep herself on track. I know she will go into the Paragon Pet Groomer with a positive attitude. Congratulations Ashley!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I never saw myself getting into grooming up until I did! It all started as a bathing job while pregnant, and it turned into so much more as I began to enjoy it. I love working with dogs but I never saw it in this sense!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
The detailed videos, being able to work hands on and able to show what I had to offer!

What are your future goals?
Hoping to become a better groomer and strive for success!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
NEVER give up! Yes, it’s hard! In the end, all that blood, sweat, and tears given to this line of work will pay off!
