Nails and Ears Technician Certificate

This program is available to Pet Business owners and teaches their staff the foundational skills necessary to care for nails and ears including:

  • Safety and Sanitation
  • Pet Handling Basics
  • Common Grooming Products
  • Nail Trimming
  • Nail Filing
  • Ear Cleaning and Care

Students receive access to the web-based, mobile-friendly Nails and Ears Technician content which includes:

  • Complete Online Study Guide
  • Video Lessons
  • Online Practice Quizzes and Tests
  • Tracking Journal
  • Training Support through Paragon Mentor

(Please note: This is an Employer Training program. Individuals seeking a career in professional dog grooming would instead take Level One – Groom Tech, where nails and ears training is part of the program. Learn More: here.)

Getting Started

Pre-Requisite: None
Total Training Time: Up to 30 days

Tuition & Tools

Tuition, including application fee and processing fee ($199).

  • Ear Cleaner
  • Ear Powder

For the safety of both the student and the pet they are working with, please exercise care to secure/tether the pet on a stable surface while performing the techniques learned in this program.

How Our Professional Certificate Program Works

Enroll Online

Student will get access to the Nails & Ears online certificate curriculum material, including videos, quizzes, and tests. Student will be assigned an instructor.

Start Work

Each module has a study guide to lead student through, step by step. Student will use a blend of illustrated textbooks & online content.

Video Tutorials

Many of the modules include video lessons to better illustrate the techniques the student is learning. Watch the pros at work!

Online Tests

Each lesson gives the student a chance to take (and repeat, if needed) a practice quiz before performing the online graded unit test.

Practice

This course has practical assignments to help reinforce the skills the student is learning. They will upload photos of their work for grading.

Congratulations!

After completing the Nails & Ears program, the student receives a certificate of completion and is ready to work!
