Family, Friends, Neighbors
- Not only will this group appreciate a free or discounted groom for their pet, they are probably one of the most forgiving as you begin developing your skills. Rescues, Humane Societies, Local Animal Control Shelters, Etc.
- You may actually help a dog find its forever home by giving them a beautiful makeover.
Veterinarians
- Medical professionals are great to have as contacts and by offering to groom some client pets or even staff pets, you could be first of mind for future referrals.
Join Some Clubs
- Join some breed clubs, kennel clubs, and even 4-H. Maybe you’ll meet some new friends!
Dog Parks
- Be an active attendee at dog parks and don’t hesitate to talk to pet parents who have breeds you know you will need for upcoming practice.
Dog Trainers
- These talented individuals have pet parent contacts and may be able to connect you with some of their clients.
Police and Fire Departments (and other local responders)
- Dogs are used for a variety of dogs in these environments. They work hard and need baths and grooming to keep them looking their best after work.

- Dogs in training to become service dogs are always required to look their best. These non-profit organizations are always looking for ways to maintain the dogs in training through volunteer groomers. Reach out to an organization near you! (Ex. Paws with a Cause)

Kennels or Doggie Daycares
- Some of these facilities do not have grooming yet and you could pave your own path to a new job! Or they already have grooming and you can apply as a bather while you go through the Paragon Distance Learning Program!
