Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: This Is What A Promising Start to a Grooming Career Looks Like

Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Groom Tech Anthony Munoz of PetSuites Atascocita in Humble, Texas! Anthony breezed through the Groom Tech program, submitting excellent work at every turn. He intuitively knows how to work with animals, and watching him grow his skills has been a gift. Keep at it, Anthony!

His mentor, Jen McCarthy, shares her thoughts: “He really seems to care for the dogs a lot and gives his all to each one. He did so well on his coursework and his photo submission tests, and he is on track to finish level 1 over 3 weeks early. Super proud of his hard work and dedication!”

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?

After years of fostering dogs, I’ve developed a deep connection with these animals and a passion for their well-being. Working as a pet professional and becoming a dog groomer allows me to combine my love for animals with the ability to make a positive impact on their lives. Grooming provides dogs with comfort and care, and I’m excited to use my skills and experience to ensure they look and feel their best every day.

What did you enjoy most during your coursework?

As a dog groomer, I’m thrilled by the opportunity to work closely with each dog, learning more about their unique traits. I’m thankful for the chance to build trust and strengthen the bond between pets and their owners, and I’m excited to contribute to their well-being in such a rewarding way.

Where can we see your work?

I make it a priority to send all my pet parents photos of their pets before pick-up to ensure they feel connected and reassured about their pets’ groom or bath. Additionally, I actively contribute to the PetSuites Atascocita Resort social media presence by posting weekly photos of the pets I do on our TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, showcasing the love and attention they receive during their visit.

What are your future goals?

My future goals in dog grooming are to stay with the company long-term, allowing me to build a loyal and satisfied clientele while continually improving my own skills. Eventually, I hope to grow into a PetSuites Coach role, where I can share my knowledge and experiences to help train and mentor future groomers.

Any advice for aspiring groomers?

Stay Committed and Ask Questions: As you begin working, don’t hesitate to ask questions and seek feedback. The more you learn from experienced groomers, the quicker you’ll develop your skills. Be Patient and Consistent: Dog grooming takes practice, so don’t get discouraged if progress feels slow at first. Stay consistent, keep learning, and be patient with yourself as you build your skills.
