Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Bailey Wilson! Located with Pet Supplies Plus in Austintown, Ohio, Bailey chose dog grooming because of her lifelong love for animals and her desire to build a career where she could make a positive difference every day. Through Paragon, she discovered the perfect balance of creativity, patience, and hands-on work while developing the skills to help pets look and feel their best. Bailey especially enjoyed gaining confidence through working with a variety of dogs and is excited to continue growing into a compassionate, highly skilled groomer.

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I chose dog grooming as my career because I have always loved working with animals and wanted a career where I could make a positive difference in their lives. Grooming allows me to combine creativity, patience, and hands-on work while helping pets look and feel their best. I enjoy building trust with each dog and seeing the difference a good grooming session can make in their comfort and confidence. Every day brings something new to learn, and I’m excited to continue growing my skills and becoming the best groomer I can be.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
During my coursework, I enjoyed the hands-on learning the most. Working with a variety of dogs gave me the opportunity to build my grooming skills and confidence with every groom. I also enjoyed learning new techniques, understanding different coat types, and seeing the progress I made throughout the course. Each dog taught me something different, and the experience helped prepare me for a successful career in grooming.
Where can we see your work?
At this time, I don’t have a professional grooming portfolio or dedicated social media page. As I continue my career, I look forward to creating a portfolio to showcase my work and growth as a groomer.
What are your future goals?
My future goal is to continue growing as a dog groomer by improving my skills and learning new techniques throughout my career. I want to create a calm, safe, and stress-free environment where every dog feels comfortable and cared for. I hope to build lasting relationships with clients by earning the trust of both pets and their owners through patience, compassion, and high-quality grooming. My goal is for every dog to leave happy, healthy, and looking their best.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
My advice for aspiring groomers is to be patient with yourself and never stop learning. Every dog is different, and each groom is an opportunity to improve your skills and gain confidence. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, accept feedback, and learn from experienced groomers. Most importantly, always put your safety and the dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being first. Building trust with the dogs in your care will make you a better groomer and create a positive experience for both the pets and their owners.
