This Rising Star's Stellar Work Ethic and Thirst For Knowledge Will Make Her a Grooming Great
Meet Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad Bethany Keske of Chuck & Don’s in Chanhassen, Minnesota! Bethany is a classic self-starter and enjoys the process of figuring things out for herself, but is also not afraid to ask for help when needed. These two traits form the backbone of a successful grooming career, and we’re so proud of her progress!
Her mentor Jen McCarthy elaborates, “Bethany has been such an awesome student! She asks questions when she needs to but also likes the challenge of figuring things out independently. She has such a natural talent for grooming already! She got high grades on both her written tests as well as her photo submission tests. She really takes the time to work with the dogs and makes them look their best! Very proud of her hard work in level 1!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have loved dogs my entire life and have always known they would be a big part of my life. I worked as a dog trainer and through that, I learned that my passion truly lies in working one on one with the dogs and ensuring they are comfortable, healthy, and happy. Grooming dogs allows me to work with that passion every day!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
During my coursework, I enjoyed taking what I learned and applying it to real dogs. It was really fun working on the natural foot trims and making the feet look nice and tidy!
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to work hard on Level 2 of this program and become an official dog groomer! I am excited to learn more about different dog breed haircuts and I am also looking forward to making more and more dogs comfortable and happy!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
My best advice for aspiring groomers would be to work hard and stay focused and to find a grooming salon where you can enjoy the people you work with and can have each other’s backs when someone needs help.
