From Passion to Profession: Meet Certified Groom Tech Bethany Ralston

Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Bethany Ralston! Based in Bryan, Texas, Bethany chose dog grooming as a career because of her love for animals and passion for helping dogs look and feel their best. Grooming allows her to combine creativity, patience, and hands-on work while building trust with both pets and their owners. With a strong drive to learn and continuously improve her skills, Bethany has officially earned her Certified Groom Tech title.

Her mentor, Kaiti Roberson, shares:

“Bethany has such drive to learn! She always asks questions, takes feedback and is consistently improving throughout the program. Her submissions are always top tier!”

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?

I wanted to become a dog groomer because I enjoy working with animals and helping them look and feel their best. Grooming allows me to combine my love for dogs with creativity, patience, and hands-on work. I enjoy building trust with pets and their owners while providing care that keeps dogs healthy, clean, and comfortable.

What did you enjoy most during your coursework?

During my coursework, I really enjoyed learning about dog anatomy, different coat types, and the proper grooming tools used for each breed. It was interesting to understand how a dog’s coat and body structure affect grooming techniques and overall care. The hands-on experience with grooming tools helped me build confidence and develop important skills for working safely and effectively with dogs.

Where can we see your work?

You can find Bethany grooming at Pet Supplies Plus as she continues gaining experience in the field. At this time, she does not have a professional dog grooming social media account, as she is currently focused on completing her certification and gaining experience in the field. Once fully certified, she plans to create a grooming social media page to share her work, connect with clients, and continue growing professionally as a dog groomer.

What are your future goals?

My future goals are to keep learning new grooming techniques, exploring creative styles, and building my confidence as a dog groomer. I love the idea of turning grooming into both a skill and an art while making dogs look and feel amazing. As I continue to grow in the industry, I hope to build a fun and rewarding long-term career where I can express my creativity, connect with clients, and work with animals every day.

Any advice for aspiring groomers?

My advice for aspiring groomers is to not be scared to start learning, even if everything feels new at first. Skills grow with practice, patience, and confidence. If you truly love working with dogs, the learning process can be both fun and rewarding.
