Rising Star & Pet Groomer Grad: Eagerly Learning As Much As Possible
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Pet Groomer Cassidy Thacker of Petsense in Murfreesboro, Tennessee! Cassidy is like an information sponge and watching her progress through the program has been a joy! We can’t wait to hear about all of her future successes!
Her mentor Suesan Watson adds, “Cassidy has been a great student, she has stayed well connected by checking in often and asking questions to help her move quickly onto the next skills with confidence. She was eager to get critiques on her work and applied them easily to other work. I am excited to see where this journey leads her in this new career. Congratulations!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have always been such an empathetic person when it comes to animals in general. Making dogs who come in feel so much better when walking out is always my goal. I also love the creative and artistic side to grooming it is truly a passion of mine.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
During my course work I enjoyed learning and reading up on things that I did not know about before. The things you read and learn about are so useful! As far as hands on coursework I loved learning how to do the stylized legs. It was eye opening to see how small things can make your groom look so much better!
Where can we see your work?
I plan on soon creating a space to post all of my work and build my portfolio as I get further along.
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to absorb as much information and tips as I can to get better. I would also like to get better at my time management skills and being more efficient during my grooms.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
My advice to aspiring groomers would be to never give up. Even you feel discouraged and always remember you are your own biggest critic. Don’t be too hard on yourself and keep going. Practice makes perfect!
