Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Groom Tech student Dakota Bennor! Based in Rockford, Michigan, Dakota is already building strong momentum in her grooming journey. With a lifelong love for animals, Dakota has found a fulfilling path in dog grooming where she can care for dogs daily while continuing to grow her skills and confidence.
Her mentor, Suesan Watson, shares:

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve had a love for animals from a very young age. So I’ve been pursuing a career path centered around them, which has led me to dog grooming, allowing me to take care of great dogs daily!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved all the hands-on work the most! Getting dogs in the shop to give them baths and brushes has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing the difference I can make for a dog brightens my day.

What are your future goals?
My future goals are to continue to elevate my grooming skills. I want to do the best work possible for these dogs!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Be patient. It can be hard finding dogs or dealing with a dog that has a bad temperament. But if you’re patient with the dog and yourself, you can work through any challenges you face. And remember, we’re working with animals. They are living beings and should always be treated with care and compassion.
