Meet Rising Star Dakota Smitley of Pet Supplies Plus in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. A Level 2 graduate with a creative eye and a genuine passion for pets, Dakota brings artistry, patience, and heart to every grooming assignment. Blending interests in dogs, art, and cosmetology, they’ve found the perfect outlet in professional grooming, and we can’t wait to see where this journey leads them!

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have always been interested in dogs, and some of my hobbies include art and cosmetology/hair color. It was always the perfect mash-up of my interests!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved meeting and working with all kinds of dogs and connecting with their owners.
What are your future goals?
I’d love to continue grooming and eventually learn about AKC and breed standard cuts.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Keep practicing, and take pictures of all of your grooms! It makes it easier to see your progress as you continue to learn.
