Aurora Groomer Starts Strong
Damariz Hernandez of Aurora, IL is off to a great start in grooming! Working at Pet Supplies Plus – Montgomery, IL, she recently graduated Paragon’s Level 2 – Pet Groomer program. We’re thrilled with her work and can’t wait to see more.

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I always wanted to work with Pets but wasn’t sure where to start… until I adopted my French Bulldog, Nala Skye at the beginning of the pandemic! I had to learn proper grooming techniques since most places were closed. Once I started doing my own research, I began to recognize the importance of grooming. Once I did, I started helping friends and family – explaining to them that grooming is not only for luxurious looks, but also maintaining health. Since then, I made the choice to start my dream career!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
Learning the proper tools for specific grooming techniques and different coat types.
Are you currently employed, or still looking?
I am currently employed at Pet Supplies Plus.
What are your future goals?
I hope to keep gaining experience and groom at a Grooming Show!
