Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Working Hard and Striving To Do Her Best Work
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Emma Cathey of Pet Supplies Plus in North Port, Florida! Emma was laser-focused on ensuring her skills were sharp and her knowledge base was solid, all to make sure she was doing everything possible to make pets look and feel their best. It’s been a joy having her in the program, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
Emma’s mentor Suesan Watson agrees, sharing, “Emma worked incredibly hard throughout level one in the Paragon program. She wanted to show me that she had what it took to do her best work and use the critiques that were given to help propel her to a higher level in the next skill. I know that as she moves forward, she will continue to work just as hard and strive to do her best work. Congratulations, Emma!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve worked in pet retail for a few years now, and when the opportunity was presented, I leaped at it. I’ve always loved animals, and the thought of helping dogs feel and look the best they can be made me want to try it even more.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
The amount of detail in the coursework made my entire journey so much easier! It was great to have all my questions answered in the videos before I even had to start working on a dog. The courses really made sure I had a deep understanding and knowledge of each step before I finished each lesson.
Where can we see your work?
I am still starting out and creating my profiles for work, so for right now, nowhere yet!
What are your future goals?
To be very proficient and master the prep work before I start my journey cutting hair.
