Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad: Ready For What Comes Next As She Moves Into Her New Career
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Pet Groomer Emma Davis of Pet Supplies Plus in Fort Wayne, Indianna! Emma is a bonafide grooming rockstar and is always eager to learn and improve. Now she’s off to the races, and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to!

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve grown up around dogs and trainers/ breeders. I’ve always known that I wanted to be in the animal field especially working with dogs. I simply didn’t know what that what would be. I worked at Pet Supplies Plus as a cashier all throughout my senior year of high school and still found myself there after graduation. I talked with my parents about funding my grooming education and had decided that’s what I wanted to do. We ran into some issues and couldn’t find any programs nearby, but I wasn’t comfortable moving away from home. I ended up deciding that I would do it through pet supplies plus since it would be free and I’ve already worked there for so long.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed being able to make pets feel and look their best while learning to perfect my skills. I also love being able to interact with so many people and their pets on a daily basis.

What are your future goals?
I have hopes that in the future I will be able to compete and master more breed standard cuts.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Don’t let rude customers or a slow day affect your confidence. Also, listen to what critiques your mentors and coaches have for you. You’re likely doing better than you think you are!
