Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Focused On Becoming The Best Groomer She Can Be
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Graci Tatum of Petsense in Crossville, Tennessee! Graci is a natural in the salon, and she’s always looking for ways to improve her skills. Becoming a great groomer means always sharpening your skills, so we know Graci is destined to be great! We can’t wait to see what’s next for her!
Suesan Watson, Graci’s mentor, had this to share: “Graci was a great student through level 1; she always wanted to elevate her work. She communicated well and was ready to hear how she did on the skills. She shows that she wants to be the best groomer she can be and provide the best experience for the pups she works on. Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have loved all animals since I was young. I first wanted to become a marine scientist, but I realized it was not a good fit. When I came home and got my first job at Petsense as a groomer, I knew it was for me! I love being able to bond with each animal that I see and perform my best work on them to make them look beautiful!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed getting feedback from my mentor so I could learn where to get stronger. Every bit of information that I got back helped me immensely, and I always tried my best to put it into action immediately. This really helped me grow and be able to improve faster.
Where can we see your work?
I do not currently have any social media for my work, but I do plan on it in the future! I am at Petsense in Crossville, TN.
What are your future goals?
In the future, I would love to be able to build a clientele. This would give me the opportunity to bond more with my clients and do my best work.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Stay dedicated, and be sure it’s what you really want! Grooming can be very difficult at times, especially when there are difficult dogs, but if your heart is truly in it, you will thrive! Keep pushing and keep learning everywhere you can.
