Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Proving There's No Substitute For Hard Work
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Professional Groom Tech Haley Moore of Petsense in Greeneville, Tennessee! Haley is laser-focused on being the best groomer she can be. Working with animals has been a lifelong passion, and if she keeps up the quality of work she produces, she’ll easily make her dreams come true!
Her mentor, Suesan Watson, elaborates, “Haley was a great student in Level 1; she stayed focused and on track, completing a little ahead of time. Her skills were well-developed, and she was eager to receive her critiques so that if she needed to improve, she knew what to work on for the next skill. I am excited to see where this journey will lead her as she moves towards being the groomer she is hoping to be. Well done, Haley!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve wanted to groom and style dogs since I was 8 years old because I love working with animals. I’ve lived on a farm for most of my life, so keeping dogs in top condition to fulfill their duties and stay happy and healthy is a top priority to me.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed learning things I never knew before. I love to learn, so having the opportunity to learn dogs’ mannerisms and the different coat types was amazing.
Where can we see your work?
As I begin to build my portfolio, I plan to upload my work to my personal Instagram with the pet parent’s permission.
What are your future goals?
I hope I can dye the dog’s hair and make extravagant styles one day! I would be thrilled to do show grooms as well.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Stay humble and close to your roots and teachings. Be patient with yourself and focus on the future. Success comes from perseverance and patience.
