This Michigan Rising Star Finds Fun and a Fulfilling Career Path in Grooming
Meet Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad Jaclyn Conley of Pet Supplies Plus in Traverse City, Michigan! Jaclyn has tremendous talent with even bigger potential, and we’re impressed with how quickly she bonds with pets and people. We know she has a successful and fulfilling career ahead of her!
Her mentor, Priscilla Wall, shares, “Jackie is not only ahead in her studies but goes above and beyond on all of her test submissions. Her positivity is contagious, and it shows in every submission she turns in. While still in Level 1, I had zero doubt she would absolutely sail through Level 2!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have always been so happy being around dogs and always seemed to create a bond with them quickly. My first word was “dog” so it was pretty much meant to be! I wanted a fresh start and this was something that would make me happy and help me grow.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed learning different aspects of grooming, especially what makes grooming a safer, more comfortable experience for the dogs. I enjoyed seeing how much I already knew from my hands on experience, and how much more knowledge I gained with the testing and training videos.
Where can we see your work?
I post all my grooms on my personal instagram. I plan to make a separate page for my grooming once I become certified. I love posting cute pictures with fun backgrounds, to keep each doggo personal and memorable.
What are your future goals?
My future goal is to become a strong groomer with a great, loyal clientele. I love the relationships I have already created with my frequent puppies and owners. I just want to make dogs look great and give them a good experience when they’re with me. ♥️
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
You can do it! Your love of dogs is the key to this career. Patience and understanding will get you so far in this career. You will have to work hard and you will have ruff days (sorry I had to! 😂) Just keep looking up!
