Meet Paragon Rising Star Kaila Rain: Building Confidence One Groom at a Time
Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Kaila Rain! Based in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Kaila has always had a love for animals and a passion for caring for dogs. For her, grooming is about more than helping a pup look their best. It is about helping them feel comfortable, refreshed, and cared for while building a relationship based on trust.
Throughout her Paragon coursework, Kaila embraced the learning process and put her new knowledge into practice. Her mentor, Elise Anderson, saw Kaila work through challenges, take feedback, and continue pushing herself to improve. That determination earned Kaila recognition as a Paragon Rising Star!

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I’ve always loved animals and genuinely enjoy being around and caring for dogs. I love being able to make the pup feel comfortable, refreshed, and their best self through a bath, brush-out, or whatever care they need! There’s something really rewarding about helping an animal feel good and building a trusting relationship with them. <3
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I really enjoyed learning all of the new material and getting to apply what I learned hands-on. Working with my mentor, Elise, during my “Time to Practice” submissions was especially valuable because I was able to build my confidence and learn how to properly approach different coat types! 🙂 It was really rewarding to see my skills improve throughout the program.

What are your future goals?
My goal is to continue my education by becoming a Certified Pet Groomer and becoming fully trained in dog grooming. I’d eventually love to specialize in working with small dogs while continuing to expand my knowledge of holistic approaches to animal wellness. I’m especially interested in learning practices such as Animal Reiki so I can incorporate a more gentle, well-rounded approach to caring for the pups I work with!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Don’t let anyone else decide what you’re capable of. I had people doubt me and my ability to succeed in this profession, but I chose to keep working hard and believe in myself. I was able to complete my program in just a few months, and I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. If this is something you truly want to pursue, keep learning, keep practicing, and don’t let other people’s doubts become your own!!
