Illinois Rising Star Studies Hard and Grooms Like A Pro
Meet Paragon Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Kristin Meadows of Pet Supplies Plus in Waverly, Illinois! Kristin is a hard worker who takes her grooming seriously, and her mentor Suesan Watson predicts her skills will grow exponentially in a salon environment.
Suesan continues, “Kristen just completed the pet grooming program and did very well throughout. She stayed focused and motivated, listened to critiques, and applied them to her grooms.”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career working with animals, but I never knew quite what that entailed. Having worked for Pet Supplies Plus for a couple of years, I got this opportunity and was very excited to get started. I have been watching grooming videos for many years, as well as watching and assisting the groomers in the store, so it was exciting to have the opportunity to actually do it myself.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
Making connections with great people and pets. Gaining those repeat customers, having a great connection with them, and seeing how much they appreciate what I did for them and their pups.
What are your future goals?
To be able to provide services to the great people in my community that helped me throughout this program.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Study study study, but also just pour your heart into it and you will come out with your own style, and a newfound respect for yourself.
