Rising Star Spotlight: Lexis Lynch’s Journey Into Professional Grooming
Meet Rising Star and is studying to become a Paragon Certified Pet Groom Tech Lexis Lynch of Pet Supplies Plus in Wall Township, New Jersey. Currently enrolled in our Groom Tech Program, Lexis has already stood out for her curiosity, dedication, and positive approach to learning. Her journey into grooming reflects a genuine passion for dogs and a desire to continuously grow both personally and professionally.
Lexis shares that her interest in grooming began while working at a dog daycare in 2024 that also offered grooming services. Through conversations with groomers and hands-on exposure to the industry, she realized grooming was the path she wanted to pursue. After starting as a bather at PetSmart, she continued her journey at Pet Supplies Plus, where she’s building a strong foundation for her future career.

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I worked at a dog daycare in July of 2024 that also offered grooming, and I really enjoyed working with dogs. Talking with the groomers about how they got started helped me realize this is what I want for my future. I began working as a bather and continued growing from there.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved watching the videos and seeing how different groomers approach techniques. I’m more of a visual learner, so being able to see the process really helped. Expanding my knowledge and learning things I didn’t know before was the highlight.

What are your future goals?
I want to keep improving my skills, there’s always more to learn through hands-on work, videos, and continued education.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
When I first started, I was really hard on myself. I had to remind myself that you can only go forward, not backward. Every mistake is a learning experience. Don’t be too hard on yourself, keep pushing, keep believing, and there’s no limit to where you can go.
