Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Lori Weykman, an independent groomer in Clifton Springs, New York! By all accounts, Lori is an excellent student who’s motivated to succeed. She makes use of every scrap of knowledge she can get and produces beautiful work every time. We know she’ll make a great groomer and wish her happiness and success!

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I grew up around animals, and enjoyed grooming and showing dogs in 4-H. I always wanted own my own business and decided to combine that with my love of dogs.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I have enjoyed the videos and the Theory of 5 book. My mentor Brandy Mayes has been an excellent resource and very supportive throughout both my courses.

What are your future goals?
My future goals are to work full-time in my home-based salon. I also plan to increase my involvement with local dog rescue to provide grooming services to dogs in need of a fresh start.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
My advice is give yourself grace and patience. And to reach out to your mentor they a great resource and support to you on this journey.
