Rising Star Leaps From Bathing Dogs Into An Exciting Grooming Career
Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Olivia Lempeck of Zen Dog Spa in Charleston, South Carolina! Olivia is no stranger to the grooming world, getting her start as a bather. We’re so happy she decided to take that next step to become a pet groomer, and we’ve been continually impressed with her hard work as she progressed through the program.
Her mentor Jilly Mucciarone especially notes Olivia’s incredible growth and good communication skills as she completed her assignments!
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
My first job was as a kennel tech at a boarding facility and I fell in love with working with animals. After working for about two years, I branched out into the grooming world, taking a job as a bather, and fell in love! I love forming relationships with both my clients and their dogs and making their babies feel better!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I really enjoyed finally learning and mastering the stylized legs! My instructors did an amazing job at encouraging me throughout the whole process as well.

Self-care is so so important! You are your most important tool.
