From Lifelong Animal Lover to Grooming Professional: Meet Paragon Graduate Quin Steinmetz
Meet Paragon Certified Groom Tech Quin Steinmetz! Based in Chicago with Pet Supplies Plus, Quin brings compassion, curiosity, and a lifelong love for animals into her grooming journey. Growing up with an Australian Terrier and spending time around the dog show world through her sister’s involvement with the AKC, Quin developed an early appreciation for animal care. Her thoughtful approach to learning and dedication to empathy have helped her build confidence as she begins her career in pet grooming.

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I grew up with an Australian Terrier and enjoyed giving him baths and caring for him. My sister is a dog handler with the AKC, and I spent some time watching her shows growing up. I like caring for living things and making sure they feel cared for.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed that it allowed me to learn at my own pace. I also appreciated the comprehensive lessons. After completing the lessons, I had more confidence in what I was doing.
Where can we see your work?
I’m currently grooming at Pet Supplies Plus and continuing to grow my skills through hands-on experience.
What are your future goals?
My future goal is to continue being a lifelong learner and expressing empathy in my life and career.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Be patient and ask questions. Learn as much as you can from your coach in addition to the coursework.
