Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Hands-On Learning Fuels This Groomer's Success
Meet Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad Rebecca Gilland of Petsense in Greeneville, Tennessee! Rebecca is an awesome student and was very eager to learn and get feedback on her work from instructors. She always applied what she learned, and has the makings of a great groomer. Keep up the great work!
Her mentor Suesan Watson agrees, saying, “Rebecca has worked very hard in level 1. She stayed on track, asked questions, and learned from the critiques given to her. I am excited to see where this journey will lead her. She has a direction she wants to go, and I have no doubt that she will get there. Keep going!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have always enjoyed working with and being around animals of all kinds. Getting to know the animals is very fascinating to me as they are all different with different personalities, just like humans.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed the hands-on learning portion of the coursework. It really helped me get a feel of things and feel comfortable knowing I could practice before doing the real thing.
Where can we see your work?
I haven’t yet gathered a portfolio yet, because I’m still practicing and learning the work. However, I have submitted multiple photos to my mentor along the way!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
You can do anything you set your mind to, Don’t give up!
