Meet Paragon Student Sadie May! Based in Remus, Michigan, Sadie’s journey into dog grooming began when her cousin approached her about joining a new grooming business, Heart of Lakes Boarding. With a love for dogs and a genuine interest in learning different grooming styles and techniques, Sadie was excited to take on the opportunity and begin building her skills.
Through her Paragon coursework, Sadie has gained practical knowledge she can use every day, from helping pet owners keep their dogs healthy and mat-free to mastering important grooming techniques like safely trimming nails. Her dedication and enthusiasm for learning have made her a standout student throughout the program.

Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
My cousin wanted to open up a grooming business and asked if I would be interested in becoming one of his groomers, and I said yes! I love dogs and was very interested in learning the different styles and techniques to help achieve a happy pup!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I can now give pet owners advice that I learned through the videos and lessons to keep their dogs healthy and mat-free. My favorite learning moment was learning how to hold the paw while trimming their nails, which I use daily now.

What are your future goals?
My goal is to become a Paragon Certifiied Pet Groomer and become more confident with every dog so I can be the best groomer I can be.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Keep trying new techniques and taking on new challenges to achieve perfection. At the end of the day, it’s worth seeing a happy dog and owner!
