Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Making Pets' Lives Better is Front & Center
Meet Rising Star and Paragon Certified Groom Tech Yuricko Rodriguez of Pet Supplies Plus in Centreville, Virginia! Yuricko has real rapport with animals and is excited to get started in the grooming industry. They were a phenomenal student and we hope they stick with it!
Yuricko’s mentor, Jen McCarthy, adds, “They did awesome in level 1, getting great grades on all their tests. They asked questions when needed and took feedback well. Yuricko is a hard worker and determined to become the best groomer they can be!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
Since a child, I have loved animals, especially dogs. I always wanted to work with animals, but there were a lot of turns in life that delayed that process. Having my own dog reignited the desire to work with animals again, specifically dogs. I thought that grooming would be a nice career where I can learn a new skill, learn more about my fur baby, and make a difference in other fur babies’ lives.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed learning new skills and applying them practically at the same time. I also like that we get to have a one-on-one coach. *Shout out to Emily Shannon*
What are your future goals?
My future goal is to be able to become a professional groomer and continue giving dogs and owners alike a good experience.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
To strive to be better at all we do.
