Meet Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad Kala Myers of PetSuites in Buford, Georgia! Kala is an awesome student who strives for perfection and knows how to ask the right questions about her grooming. Her learning skills ensure she’ll stay on the cutting edge of grooming throughout her career.
When we caught up with her coach, Jen McCarthy, she elaborated, “Kala has been such a joy to work with and mentor! She always strives to do her best. Even if something was “passable” she wanted to make sure it was her best work for her photo submission tests. She took feedback well and applied it to her next task. Very proud of all her great grades in both coursework and photo submission tests. Her dedication to excellence will take her far.”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I have been the bather at PetSuites Braselton for over two years now and I was wanting a change. Our other bather had just went through Paragon, and watching her made me want to step up from bathing dogs, and I can see myself grooming well into the future!
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved getting to do feet trims because it was something new for me since the bathing section I pretty much knew everything! Getting to try something new was nerve-racking but also so much fun!!
What are your future goals?
My future goals are to stay at PetSuites as the groomer and graduate college with my business degree!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Stay dedicated to your work and ALWAYS ask questions!!
