See How This Rising Star's Love and Experience With Animals Produces Stunning Grooms
Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Mary Beth Ainsworth of Petsense in McComb, Mississippi! Mary’s previous experience with animals really showed through in her assignments, and we’re so proud of what she’s been able to accomplish at Paragon.
Her mentor Liz Thompson elaborates, saying, “Mary was such a hard worker throughout their level 1 and level 2 completing each level a whole month ahead of their expected time to complete. Mary was able to showcase consistency in their grooms which all started with beautifully done prep work. I know that Mary is leaving Paragon set with all of the skills and techniques that are needed to be very successful in this industry.”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I found out I had a passion for grooming animals when I was in 4H.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoyed learning the Theory of 5. I really liked how it broke everything down and made grooming a simple (but not too simple) task.

You can currently see my work at Petsense in McComb. I have not started a page for my grooming yet, but I plan to in the future.
What are your future goals?
Sometimes thinking about the future can be daunting, so I tend to think in baby steps. Right now I just plan on practicing and becoming the best groomer I can for my clients.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
You are gonna make mistakes. You are gonna make some bad cuts. You are gonna feel like you are never getting better, but your clients see your improvement even if you can’t. Never give up.
