Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad: Reaping the Rewards of Staying Organized and Goal-Focused
Meet Rising Star and Groom Tech Grad Meagan Fairey of Pet Supplies Plus in Woodland, California! Meagan is great at what she does and stayed very organized throughout her studies. We’ve noted her turning in fantastic work ahead of schedule multiple times, and best of all, she knows how to leverage all resources available to her when she gets stuck. Meagan is talented and we’re sure will be successful in the grooming industry!
Her mentor Suesan Watson agrees, telling us, “Meagan was a great student throughout level 1. She went right to work and got her submissions in before due dates. She pays attention to some of the little details that tend to get overlooked. I am excited to see where this journey is going to lead her, I feel she is on the path she should be on. Good Job!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I started as a cashier at Pet Supplies Plus, and I had always been interested in moving into grooming. When they offered me an opportunity to start in grooming, I jumped at it immediately.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I really enjoy learning new things, and grooming was completely new to me, so that was very exciting. I also really enjoyed working with the dogs and seeing how different they all are. It’s a lot of fun figuring out how to work with all the different personalities!

What are your future goals?
To get through the second level of the program, and learn as much as I can!
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Ask for help! The resources you have at your disposal are invaluable. Your mentor and fellow groomers are there to help you with anything you need, and they’ll gladly do it!
