Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad Renee De Leon of Rover Oaks Pet Resort in Houston, Texas! Renee is a perfect example of what you can achieve when you keep a positive attitude during your studies. Renee’s work is exemplary and the sky is the limit for this new groomer. Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
I want to help make dogs feel and look beautiful. I love to see their smiles after a finished groom.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I enjoy the bathing process a lot. I love to make sure they are squeaky clean. I also really enjoy using my thinners, it really is like magic when you start to blend and it blends perfectly.

What are your future goals?
I would love to learn how to groom cats, and bring that service to our resort. I also would like to work with rescues, and donate my time to helping rescue animals that need our help to make them feel beautiful again.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
There will be moments you doubt your capabilities, take a step back, breathe and try again. I would get into my head too but with more practice comes more confidence!!
