Grooming Career "Easy Choice" for Dog Lover
Meet Rising Star and Pet Groomer Grad, Joseph Jankowski from Petsense Tahlequah, OK, whose calling to care for dogs made grooming an easy choice!
According to Mentor Liz Thompson: There is so much to say about Joseph, as it has been an absolute joy to have the opportunity to Mentor him. Joseph has always had high motivation to complete the program ahead of time (a month early!) as well as making sure that precise attention was focused on perfecting his practical skills. Joseph has an appetite for grooming and it shows and I cannot wait to watch him grow in his career!”
Why did you choose dog grooming as a career?
Dogs have always been a major part of my life, from pets when I was a child, to now fostering for a Pyrenees. So getting the opportunity to work with so many was the easiest choice I’ve ever made.
What did you enjoy most during your coursework?
I loved being able to directly apply feedback and see immediate improvement to my grooms. Liz was fantastic
What are your future goals?
Develop clients that would be interested in more detailed stylings and learning more and more. Corded poodles here I come.
Any advice for aspiring groomers?
Watch another video, another groom. Get your hands on more blades and more shears, make sure they are sharp. Grab a pumice stone, they are cheap but I was the first one in my shop to have one and haven’t gone a week without using it. Call your clients.
